Lakeland Schoolhouse

Learning That is Play-Based, Project-Driven, & Personalized

Not only is it possible…. at WonderHere, it is the standard.

WonderHere Schoolhouse is a small private school rooted in play-based, project-driven, and personalized learning. Through our Family-Style™ Schoolhouse structure inspired by Finnish, Montessori, and Reggio Emilia educational models, students build core academic skills while also exploring their individual interests with guidance from teacher mentors.

We offer both full-day and half-day options in a bright, open learning environment designed for connection and growth. All students receive daily instruction in language arts, math, and science/history, along with time for project-based learning and play.

Full-time students also enjoy lunch, outdoor play, and the option to join an afternoon elective class for an additional cost.

Available Programs

Minis

Minis is our preschool program for children ages 3.5 to 4 who are ready to learn in a structured, play-based environment. It focuses on building social skills, character, independence, and respect for others, while supporting overall well-being.

Through play and exploration, children are gently introduced to early literacy and numeracy. Ultimately, the children’s interests influence the learning. Minis is perfect for children with readiness to participate kindly and collaboratively in a group setting.

Elementary

In our Elementary Schoolhouse, students begin with a Montessori-style Work Cycle, where they build skills, explore interests, and develop independence, focus, and ownership of their learning across areas like science, history, technology, and project work.

After this time, students move into their multi-age classrooms for core academics, guided by individualized learning plans tailored to their needs. This balance allows for both self-directed discovery and strong academic growth.

Leadership Cohort Jr.

The Leadership Cohort Jr. is an intentional, multi-year program designed for middle school students who are ready to grow in responsibility, character, and real-world competence. This program blends academic robustness, project-based learning, apprenticeships, and reflection to help students develop confidence, initiative, and purpose.

This is not a traditional academic program. Progress is measured through performance, reflection, and growth over time.

Leadership Cohort Sr.

Leadership Cohort Sr. is an emerging high school extension of our Leadership Cohort experience… designed for students ready to step into greater ownership, purpose, and real-world impact.

Building on Leadership Cohort Jr., this phase deepens responsibility through project-based learning, real-world application, and reflection, while creating space for pathways like dual enrollment, technical and vocational training, and other individualized pursuits.
